This picture doesn’t even do this place justice. The project, namely The Tiger Woods Dubai, is an exclusive lifestyle community scheduled for completion by late 2009. The spectacular Al Rawaya Golf Course serves as its focal point.

Spread across an area of 55million square feet, The Tiger Woods Dubai will be an exclusive golf community featuring a professionally-staffed golf academy, a clubhouse spread across 139,000 square feet with premium amenities, a high-end boutique hotel, a premium destination spa, 75 mansions, 22 palaces, and 100 luxury villas.

The Tiger Woods Dubai will soon be one of the most sought-after destinations in the world, and will be a genuine oasis for those lucky enough to live or stay within its spectacular grounds, said Tiger Woods.

Paul Robeson: A Renaissance Man

29 Mar

paulroberson

Paul Robeson was the epitome of the 20th-century Renaissance man. He was an exceptional athlete, actor, singer, cultural scholar, author, and political activist. His talents made him a revered man of his time, yet his radical political beliefs all but erased him from popular history. Today, more than one hundred years after his birth, Robeson is just beginning to receive the credit he is due.

Born in 1898, Paul Robeson grew up in Princeton, New Jersey. His father had escaped slavery and become a Presbyterian minister, while his mother was from a distinguished Philadelphia family. At seventeen, he was given a scholarship to Rutgers University, where he received an unprecedented twelve major letters in four years and was his class valedictorian. After graduating he went on to Columbia University Law School, and, in the early 1920s, took a job with a New York law firm. Racial strife at the firm ended Robeson’s career as a lawyer early, but he was soon to find an appreciative home for his talents.

Check out one of his documentaries here.

Aubrey Drake Graham

Drake is a phenomenal rapper and from where i can see, a pretty down-to-earth and intriguing individual apart from his professions. i had the opportunity to be introduced to his music by a young friend of mine and fell in love with the artistic integrity on Drake’s mixtape “Room For Improvement.” Since then, i’ve followed him and his career and have enjoyed his growth as an artist thus far. He’s just released his latest mixtape, So Far Gone, which is available for download on his blog October’s Own. And since his popularity is increasing this will most likely be the last time i blog on Mr. Graham. Check his interview out with Complex below.

15 Shots??

22 Feb

This is ridiculous… things just don’t really seem to be changing at all do they? Our people, our communities, our WORLD needs a voice. Not a figure head, not a celebrity, not a donation, not another charity event, not another party, not another bash, but someone (a group of folks) who area willing to dedicate themselves to the betterment of society. Whether it’s local or global! In my humble opinion, that is what keeping Dr. King’s ‘Dream’ alive means to me. Not about a race achieving something, but people living peacefully amongst each other understanding and agreeing to disagree, at the very least, on our differences. As much as our nations mantra has become “CHANGE” in our nations history have i ever seen it. And at this point in time to “Change” the habits and ignorance of racism, socialism, classism, and inadequate education… i hope for, but don’t see “Change” happening from within the system.

And though, this definitely hit home, literally and metaphorically, seeing as i am born and raised in Pasadena, CA… this is not something that just effects me. But it’s just like anything else in our society i guess, we never put stop signs up on a street until a little kid gets hit. i’m saddened, heartbroken, outraged, and furious. Hope will never be lost but i do know that Jesus is the only way.

God bless!!
Rest in Peace “LB”

Facebook ‘Terms of Service’

19 Feb

Facebook Advertising

For those of you who are unfamiliar with what is going on over at Facebook Inc., Forbes.com has a great article summarizing the recent hoorah over Facebooks new terms of service. Consumerist.com also has an excellent, in-depth blog of how it effects past, current, and future Facebook participants.

I’ve gotten a great opportunity to read many articles and even view some of the privacy laws that are very “ambiguous” to pinpoint when dealing with the internet and more specificially, social networks. But what Facebook Inc. has done is much more potent than what meets the eye.

I understand that they have, since 2007, been trying to transition from a social network to a general portal like Yahoo! (which is a terrible transition idea in my opinion) but this last move is quite peculiar.

Though, Facebook may have stated in members’ previous terms of service that “the terms of this agreement are capable of being changed without notification” doesn’t mean you have to do it without notification. Especially, when your new terms of service includes the ownership of major membership content. To do whatever you want with it, for as long as you want, however you see fit, WITHOUT THE MEMBER’S CONSENT!

In a deeper, more conspiracy theorist-esque way, this to me is a warning shot to American citizens and citizens abroad. They (the machine) can and will do whatever they feel like with you, if you’re not paying attention. And for many of those people who registered onto Facebook without reading the terms of service, they are blessed to have people (Consumer’s Union’s) who are paying close attention.

In other areas of our lives, these type of things have already happened and are basically irreversible. ‘Homeland Security and their power to spy, poke, peep, etc. into the American citizen’s personal life. We voted them that power and took away our own in fear.

Please, please, please be more careful about what you sign your name in agreeance to. You could be giving up way more than you think. And pressing ctrl + alt + delete won’t work!

Copenhagenized

There is something so elegant, classy, sophisticated, and beautiful in riding a bike. It’s much more than the simplicity of just riding a bicycle, though that is very much apart of it. It says so much about a person’s confidence, work ethic, and grit, which all adds up to classic, elegant, and sophisticated beauty. i have officially become Copenhagenized and would like for you all to join me. My new favorite website and culture Copenhagen Cycle Chic.
