The Snow Boot || My New Steez

26 Jun

i know everyone is currently from a different planet, outerspace, Mars, galactic_ & for one i must say i don’t mind the analogies. It’s one thing to say it, & it’s another to completely embody taking your mind to another place & physically manifesting the thoughts you deliberately hold in your conscious and sub-conscious mind- it’s called Auto Suggestion!

The mix of style & art that the snow boot has evolved into is a perfect ‘physical manifestation’ of how i see a young man like myself being able to bridge the gap in garment representation. Enough said?! – it’ll have to do for now lol !!

Billionaires in the Building

18 Jun

Billionaires apparently used some of their massive cash piles to get the good seats for last night’s Game 7 of the NBA finals that pitted the Boston Celtics against the Los Angeles Lakers.

It seemed that during every time out, ABC’s cameras panned the crowd to show a bevy of celebrity fans including Jack Nicholson,  Leonardo DiCaprio, Usher, Christina Aguilera–I’ll stop there. The Boston Herald has all the name dropping.

But two of the city’s richest went largely unnoticed during the championship game. Media maven David Geffen (net worth $5 billion) sat courtside to the right of the Laker’s bench. Platinum Equity’s Tom Gores (net worth $2.2 billion) sat so close to the Celtics it seemed that Doc Rivers blocked his view during half the game. (Check out my profile on Tom Gores).

This picture doesn’t even do this place justice. The project, namely The Tiger Woods Dubai, is an exclusive lifestyle community scheduled for completion by late 2009. The spectacular Al Rawaya Golf Course serves as its focal point.

Spread across an area of 55million square feet, The Tiger Woods Dubai will be an exclusive golf community featuring a professionally-staffed golf academy, a clubhouse spread across 139,000 square feet with premium amenities, a high-end boutique hotel, a premium destination spa, 75 mansions, 22 palaces, and 100 luxury villas.

The Tiger Woods Dubai will soon be one of the most sought-after destinations in the world, and will be a genuine oasis for those lucky enough to live or stay within its spectacular grounds, said Tiger Woods.

*ATTENTION* ALL ATHLETES

The leading cause of sudden death in American athletes is a genetic disorder called hypertrophic cardiomyopathy, which by some estimates affects roughly one in 500 people. Like weeds that overrun an unkempt yard, the heart muscle fibers proliferate rapidly and in a disorganized manner, often leading to a tripling or quadrupling in heart size during adolescence (see a picture here). People with HCM usually have no idea this is happening until they’re exercising one day and the electrical system in the heart suddenly fails. The heart takes on the appearance of a bag of worms struggling to get free (a problem called ventricular fibrillation), and cardiac arrest occurs.
